Timing, focal length and shutter speed are the key to this kind of shot. Every light house has a different sweep speed, so a different shutter speed is needed.
The time of the day was slightly after sunset, which was particularly dull. Thankfully the crossover light was nice and and vivid blue. The clouds were nicely placed and the light pollution from the nearby town added a nice contrasting splash of colour.
All in all, a very pleasing photograph at take.
