First off let me say I love these puffins. The first time I saw them I was like wow these are beautifully interesting birds. I like to add that I like photos that have some kind of interesting activity or expression between the animals because most photos are just the main subject and bokeh. Then what can you say, but the picture is crystal sharp and saturated with color.
The bottom left grass shows a little blur which gives it a little depth. Most of the color is subdued except for the accented orange. The subdued colors make it look more natural. I would just love a backstory to this... like what the puffins are talking about...it looks like one is talking and the other is listening. I think if both had their beaks open it would have been a better shot. Also, how much I love the the shot would depend on how big the picture really is. I see that it's relatively a small file. Maybe you decided to just upload a small file. For shots like this I like to see them on a bigger canvas or poster possibly with black matting. Overall it's a very nice picture. You should write a back story behind it. Impact would really depend on whether I could blow this picture up to a decent poster or canvas size.
